Louis Vanpeperstraete, MSc

Louis is a student in the Ph.D. program in microbiology and immunology at the University of Montreal. In 2024, he obtained his master's degree in health biology, specializing in immunology, from the University of Lille (France). He also joined the Canadian Donation and Transplantation Research Program (CDTRP) as a student that same year. Louis joined Dr. Hébert's team in 2023 as a master's student, where he mainly worked on new techniques for obtaining and characterizing apoptotic exosome-like vesicles (ApoExos). His current research aims to better understand the involvement of the complement system and the age of patients in microvascular rarefaction related to graft ischemia-reperfusion. Outside the laboratory and his promising research, Louis enjoys trying many sports, looking for new places to have lunch and dinner, and he also has a secret passion for sailing.
